Equivocation of being too sensitive:
A misconception that leads to victim blaming.
The phrase "being too sensitive" is thrown around so loosely. This is specially true in our intergroup. This writing is about the misconception around the term "being too sensitive". I believe my experience could shed the lights on this topic.
For example as victim of "Cluster B" abuse, I have undergone the continuous dosage of exasperation since May 2019. This is a clear example of induced sensitivity.
Exasperation Since May 2019
One of the "Cluster B"'s favorite weapon is exasperation. I have undergone the continuous dosage of exasperation since May 2019. I have detailed my story in the following link.
This is like continuously taking aspirin. one or two might be ok. But, after taking 200 aspirin, those asprins will kill you.,
“I am sensitive” vs “you are sensitive”:
Many people , including myself, admit we are sensitive people. So as an individual person , we say that “I am too sensitive”. This means I am working on it.
But, it is a different story, when someone (Person A) tells another person (Person B) that he is sensitive”.
In this case the “person A” is denying “Person B” of his experience.
Psychopathy: Psychopathy is defined as lack of empathy, The above statement , could be classified as a behavior that is qualified to be called “Psychopathy” . That is , if we don’t want to call “person A” a psychopath.
are so many misconceptions about the concept of "being too sensitive". This is especially true in the 12 steps meeting. These misconceptions made the recovery circles a major attraction for the predators. They are being used for victim blaming.
As a result the term "Being too sensitive" is being used to dismiss people's experience.
Triggers ( accidental vs intensional)
The underlying reason for the misconception around “Being Too Sensitive” is ambiguity on the cause of sensitivity.
That is where the 12 steps concepts short change the victims of “Cluster B”.
Let's begin the discussion by using the term trigger. That is the scientific term for “sensitivity”.

So, the triggers are accidental and not intentional.
Accidental trigger vs Intensional Trigger
That is the essence of step 2 for many 12 step programs. Insanity is that , for no particular reason, the addicts get triggered and act out in the addiction.
So something bad has happened in the past and the flashbacks come back from time to time.
The solution to this problem is a spiritual solution as suggested by 12 steps program
The key thing here is the accidental nature of step 2.
Intensional Trigger
On the other hand, “Cluster B” tries to find out what those trigger points are.
He does it by trial and error. He keeps breaking the targets’ boundaries. When the target shows reaction to this , this will be the starting point of the found trigger.
He then starts cultivating this trigger point . This is called Intermittent Reinforcement. When you feel the exasperation is finished, another round of attack starts. They keep repeating this until the target is programmed to see the “Cluster B” as element of shock. This is called pairing with shock.
New Triggers
At this point he inserts new trigger points in his victim. For example the member of our intergroup as trigger to flashback. I have written about this extensively in here:

Does the victim have 1 or 2 perpetrators?
That is essence of why the term “Being Too Sensitive” is does nto make any sense.
The image below shows the issue at hand
In reality the victim faces two perpetrators. But, the misconception about “being too sensitive” helps “cluster B” to sell his stalking as a normal behavior.
